In no more than a paragraph or two, use your knowledge of the work we have read this quarter to frame a most important question or puzzle related to collective action online that urgently needs further study or design intervention. Make the strongest and most focused case you can (that's the "manifesto" part) that resolving this question or puzzle is critical and will have both important theoretical implications as well as practical impact.
Upload your manifesto to the corresponding "discussion" thread on Canvas
A few additional points:
- Just because you're unaware of any prior work that has addressed a question is not sufficient justification to study it more. Find a better justification.
- It's completely fine if you choose advocate for research that you are pursuing. (Indeed, I should hope that you think the work you are pursuing is important and merits a manifesto of some sort!)
- Make sure your argument points to a clear, concrete and tractable line of inquiry. Good manifesto writing may be subtle and nuanced, but it is not usually very ambiguous.
